Bocelli treat for music lovers

Operatic legend Andrea Bocelli impressed a packed house at Birmingham’s NIA on Saturday night.

The Tuscan born tenor performed a varied collection of favourites from well known operas, Neapolitan serenades and songs from his new album.

He is currently in the early stages of his world tour which ends late January 2007 in Geneva. Bocelli left the audience spellbound with his wide range of vocals.

An impressive rendition of Elvis Presley’s ‘Can’t Help Fallin’ in Love With You’ was one of the many crowd pleasers of the night.

The large orchestra and chorus were exceptional, as were the baritone and soprano who accompanied him throughout the performance.

The crowd kept calling for more before Bocelli finally rewarded them with his hit ‘Time to Say Goodbye,’ which finally ended the evening.

The ticket prices for the concert were steep, but no-one left feeling short-changed, proved by the standing ovation Bocelli received.

The night was wonderful for all music lovers.
