Teacher faces sex charges

Police discovered indecent photographs of a child on the walls of a Black Country teacher’s home who today admitted a string of sex offences.

Kenneth Roger Paskin, of Highfields Road, Sedgley, pleaded guilty at Wolverhampton Crown Court to 15 charges, including abducting a teenage girl.

Paskin - a former teacher at Warley High School - admitted sexual activity with a child, abduction, eight counts of taking indecent images of children and five charges of possessing indecent pictures of underage girls.

The 57-year-old had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges, which relate to two girls.

Mr Richard Atkins, prosecuting, told Wolverhampton Crown Court today that officers found indecent pictures of a girl aged under 16.

Officers raided the property on January 11, 2006, after suspicions had been raised about the teacher.

Mr Atkins said police found the pictures on his walls, a CD containing 140 illegal images of children and other indecent photos he had taken.

The teacher was suspended from his job at Warley High School when the allegations came to light earlier this year.

Eight other charges were dropped at the court hearing today.

His Honour Judge Nicholas Webb adjourned sentencing until October 31 for a pre-sentence report.
