More than 60 transfers are to be investigated as part of an investigation into corruption in football.
Lord Stevens was today set to ask for more time to look into claims of illegal payments between agents, managers and players.
The scale of alleged corruption will be set out by his investigation, which has involved forensic accountants who have looked at 362 transfers completed between January 2004 and January 2006.
The FA was today set to promise to fine, suspend or ban clubs and their officials that are found to be guilty of taking bung payments.
Its chief executive Brian Barwick said: “We have made it our priority to strengthen the compliance department so we can tackle the issue of corruption head on.”
The Express & Star exclusively revealed last week that Stourbridge-based agent Colin Gordon, who represents England manager Steve McClaren, believed “the majority of agents” were involved in illegal payments.
