Teachers at a Cannock school are at the end of their tether after mindless vandals struck for the third time in as many weeks.
Now Moat Hall Primary School, in Johns Lane, Great Wyrley, has to find £12,000 to install CCTV cameras, on top of tens of thousands of pounds worth of damage.
Evil vandals have trashed the school by covering it in vile graffiti, smashing up pumpkins the children were growing for Halloween and ripping the tiles off the roof.
The yobs are thought to have climbed the gates of the school and used spray paint to scrawl logos and names all over the building.
Headteacher Patricia MacSorley and Mick Hill, site supervisor, say they were now distraught and appealed for donations to help them.
Mr Hill said: “The last three weeks have been awful. I hoped it would get better when the summer holidays ended but it’s worse than ever.
“It’s getting ridiculous. We need to find some way of stopping the vandals.”
He added: “I dread Monday mornings because I know the vandals will have been again over the weekend. Mrs MacSorley comes and asks me, what have they done this weekend?
“It’s terrible that these vandals don’t even care that they’re ruining the children’s property. What have the children done to anyone to be treated like this?”
Mr Hill added that money spent repairing the school should be spent on books and equipment for the youngsters.
The Parents, Teachers and Friends Association have put £1,000 into the kitty to help pay for the CCTV cameras.
Over the summer a new greenhouse, which had only been in situe for a month, was destroyed.
