A man’s body has been found in a village pool near Walsall.Essington residents have been left horrified following the gruesome discovery yesterday afternoon.
A council worker discovered the body in a fishing pool in Brownshore Lane at around 2pm.
It is believed the pools were the scene of a detailed search by police earlier this week.
District and Parish Councillor David Clifft chairman of Essington Council, said: “First and foremost our deepest thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this very sad time.
“I was contacted around 2pm yesterday by one of our employees responsible forÊlooking after the fishing pools who informed me that he had discovered a body
“The police were called and the area was sealed off.
“We will be meeting with the worker concerned to offer him any support he may need because this is obviously very distressing for him.”
