Plans for two new marinas near Lichfield which could hold up to 380 boats, are set to be thrown out by planners.
Lichfield District Council is poised to reject the applications for Bromley Hayes despite high demand for facilities. They are for adjacent sites on agricultural land off Lichfield Road, opposite Kings Bromley Wharf.
The planning committee will be advised to refuse permission for both when it meets on Monday. Planning officer Stephen Hill feels the applications would have a damaging impact on the visual character of this part of the countryside.
