Appeal in memory of fan

boots.jpgKind-hearted West Bromwich Albion fan John Kennett has donated a prized piece of soccer memorablia to raise cash in memory of a tragic fellow fan who died aged 26.

John, of Tipton, last week appealed for Express & Star readers to find a good home for his signed pair of Darren Moore’s boots.

And the family of Albion fan Stephen Hayden have come forward to take the boots off John’s hands.

Stephen, aged 26, died on August 3 following a 12 month battle with leukaemia.

He went to every West Bromwich Albion game and the boots were last night handed to his family to help them with their fundraising efforts in his memory.

Stephen’s father Roy from Chester Road North, Kidderminster, said he and his wife Barbara were delighted to have been chosen by John to receive to the boots.
