One of the wettest V Festivals in its 11-year history was coming to an end yesterday - as organisers announced tickets for next year’s extravaganza go on sale today.
The end of the event was marked by tragedy after three people travelling home died in a road crash on the M25 early Monday morning.
The group, all in their late teens and early 20s, were thrown from a car when it plunged down an embankment between junctions 28 and 29.
Thousands of revellers packed up their tents yesterdayand left Weston Park after three days of music and mayhem.
Much of the site was turned into a swamp, with wellies changing hands for up to £50 as fans desperately tried to equip themselves during the torrential rain.
But despite the downpours, organisers hailed the soggy weekend a success. Staffordshire Police revealed today 83 people had been arrested since the start of the festival. More than 300 crimes were reported including 89 thefts from tents.
